Techniques: How to stablize the neckline of a sweater…

I was out at with my friends at craft group today and the subject turned to stablizing necklines. As top down sweaters have become so popular this is probibly a good time to revisit this subject. The Yarn Harlot has posted a lovely explanation with pictures on this subject. I usually place my row of crochet at the point where the ribbing and the stocking stitch meet.  However if there is no transition it is best to position the line of crochet where it will bear the weight of the garment across the neckline.

Here it is http://www.yarnharlot.ca/blog/archives/2008/02/24/hooking_because_i_have_to.html

Thanks Stephanie!
