Gallery: Ashley’s Blanky

Ashley's Blanky

I started designing this 24 x 24″ blanket with the idea that something small and cuddly, warm and useful would be and interesting project. With a limit of 2 balls of Patons Canadiana (which wouldn’t normally be my first choice) I started with a basic square. At 24″ square I figured it was a good size for dragging around by a corner, for being tucked in a stroller, and napped with in a car seat.  As usual I included 2 techniques that may be new to the knitters, Loop or Noose Cast On, and Russian Bind off.  I have to admit I take pleasure in introducing Ashley to you.

The real Ashley is my cousin’s youngest daughter.  She is a sweetheart!

Gorgeous blanket — and perfect for Spring! For what it’s worth, I’d totally want to drag that around by a corner. 🙂

Very cute work! And I love that you totally rocked it with yarn that’s not your first choice. I love clever peeps!
