Stuart McLean, One of Canada’s best kept secrets!

A few years ago a dear friend gave me a CD of Stuart MacLean’s “Odd Jobs”. I was a convert. This man is a storyteller with the most marvelous sense of humour!

Found these amusing personality tests.

Found these personality tests thanks to Ebonyhooks5 on Ravelry.

Harry Potter characters: I was the Fred & George Weasley, Vivacious, adventurous and outgoing. They are always in the centre if things socially, they are fun to be around, though they tend to have short attention spans!

Click this pic to take the quiz yourself

Jane Austens characters: I am Elizabeth Bennet! You are intelligent, witty and tremendously attractive. You have a good head on your shoulders and oftentimes find yourself the lone beacon of reason in a sea of ridiculousness. You take great pleasure in many things. You are proficient in nearly all of them, though you will never own it. Lest you seem too perfect. You have a tendency toward prejudgement that serves you very ill in deed.

I am Elizabeth Bennet!

WIP Wed: What needs to be finished!

Ok I admit this is totally embarassing!

Honest I do finish things, I have finishing bees.  I finished something today… but you can’t see it to friday lol!

I am not a linear thinker by nature so why should I be a linear project finisher? Yes you hear guilt here.

I rushed to put this stuff away before Darling saw how many projects I am working on, we work on a need to know basis and he doesn’t need to know!

This is only the pile of what I could find just glancing around the chair where I knit.

There is some interesting things in this pile:

  1. Cable Cardigan: back done and front right to underarm
  2. Leafy facecloth: 8 more to do for Bazaar
  3. Potato chip scarf
  4. Afghan strip # 1
  5. Afghan strip # 2
  6. Commuter set: coffee cozy, water bottle cozy and cellphone cozy
  7. Size 4 Boys top down cardigan
  8. Party dress size 2
  9. saarjtees booties
  10. Ripples of laughter socks
  11. bamboo socks
  12. Micah’s Blanky
  13. 3rd Tea cozy

12 projects within reach of my knitting chair

I usually read more than one book at a time too! Promise no list lol.

You don’t always feel like reading or working on the same thing.

At least I don’t… Maybe I am a bit weird?

Visit Tami’s WIP Wed for more great works in progress posts

27 Books Bedside table and yes I am currently reading them all!

The Joy of Stats by Hans Rosling

A friend posted this program on The Joy of Statistics. Not only interesting but rather entertaining. Hans Rosling has a wonderful approach to what you would think was a dry subject. The video takes 60 mins so get comfortable, honest it is worth it… I found it interesting, I would love to see him presenting live!

Gallery: Sue’s EZ Toe-up Socks by Susan Sedlak

Furry Moth called Willow

I like to knit from the toe-up. When you divide the yarn in two, then knit one sock, there is always enough for the second.

This method of doing toes and heels is easier to do major repairs when catastrophe happens!

(like small furry animals that parade around looking like a cat, eating the toe off your favourite socks!)

Sue's EZ Toe-up Socks

Haven’t tried toe-up socks, or found them difficult? Try this and you’ll be a convert!

Stop worrying have I got enough yarn for both socks? Divide your supply in half and start knitting.

Make a more easily replaceable heels or toes by using a different colour.

This toe-up sock pattern is so easy you will want to knit a bunch.

EZ toe cast on, and After Thought Heel instructions. Learn a new and useful construction option for socks.

Make a basic sock that will fit you or a loved one perfectly. Try something new!

The Sock pattern for these socks can be found here http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/sues-ez-toe-up-socks
