What’s up?

knitting with cat

Good morning all, I hope you all had a nice holiday weekend.

I am as busy as a one armed paper hanger today!

Our Wednesday morning Craft Group at Church, has decided that May 30th would be a good day for a Craft sale and tea.

This is number 3 of the 5 I'm making for the sale.

Long-term Projects

knitting with cat

Why Long-term projects; why?

Great way to use up leftovers that are laying around!

Also an old friend to plug away on when nothing else appeals.

Enormous on going project; that no one in their right mind would tackle, and the knowledge that someday you can feel a little smug about having finished it!

These are mine!

Beryl Blanket – Fingering

?????????????

Note that I knit a lot of Socks and Shawls, so I have bunches of leftover fingering. Larger amounts (25gms) become Toddler Tootsies Socks, and what remains finds it’s way into these long-term fingering projects…

I am planning to add a Bulky and a worsted project to this list in the near future.

WIP Weds: It’s Fall here in Canada

tami_wip

The leaves are beginning to change, and the weather has been lovely. The air smells like nature is getting ready for bed. Our local farmers market is full of produce.

????

We have started the count down till Christmas. My Brother and his family will be with us this year, so I am also thinking of gifts for 8  people. I have started by looking at my WIP list, and I am also looking in my Ravelry queue for ideas.

I have 3 people over 78yrs, 4 people over 45yrs (1 already looked after) and 3 people between 18 and 23yrs (1 already looked after) Total people at Christmas dinner this year will be 10 people, it’s been 2 years since we have all been together for Christmas!

The Jar for Jan/Sept 2013

About an inch and a half left to fill...

About an inch and a half left to fill…

I’m recycling my vintage glasses! Brass frames, they were expensive frames back then. I bought them to wear with my business suits, briefcase and high heels. They are 25yrs old, cat chewed arm, scratched up, and missing a nose pad now. Happy Camper, I was actually looking through the buffet for something else, found almost ready to expire coupon and my old glasses that were not fit to donate to charity! Don’t know how they survived my medical retirement, all the moves, spring cleaning and purges to be reborn!

Using my mad negotiation skills, got the price from outrageous $109.00 plus tax to recycle them to $40.00 flat, for reading glasses lenses, then I  pulled $50.00 gift card from  my pocket told her to keep the change. lol
New/old improved Brass framed reading glasses… Priceless, and they are recovering the chewed ear pcs and installing new nose pads.

Assorted buttons that are really to small to be used from my button Jar :0)

To celebrate I invented a new eye glasses chain made of buttons. The lighter side of the me that was, and has been reborn after cancer and career change :0)
