The Sundrops in my garden!

My Garden is coming along nicely. I am striving for a more Pottagerie, a mix of decorative  flowers and veggies. My bird bath died during last storm, has to be replaced.

Staked the Tomatoes and Peppers today, and weeded.

Working on the lovely yarn my DS gave me for my Birthday. 

I decided to make a Glamshell shawl. I was reading through the project notes on Ravelry and decided on adding three extra repeats before the border. I want this to be like a big warm hug from my Boy :0)

Love this pattern, I want to try it in Lace weight.

There is nothing quite like welcoming a new baby to the family! I’m lucky enough to be aunt to a plethora of munchkins, including a new arrival down in Australia. I’m tickled blue! Of course babies have their own timelines, and I’m a procrastinator, which means I had to knock out baby’s present ASAP!

Enter….the Puerperium Cardigan.

Knit in DK on 4 mm needles, this newborn size flew off my needles!

The pattern calls for 7 buttons all down the side opening, but since I am oh-so-awesome at math I only bought six. Nothing for it but a bit of modification, and because really, who wants to do up 7 buttons on a squirmy newborn anyways!

This is sirdar’s baby bamboo, and while I love the finish product, I have a heck of a time keeping this slippery yard in equal tension and oh my word it takes forever…

What fun!

My friend Bonnie and I went on the 2nd Annual Durham Ontario Yarn Crawl. Visiting 5 Yarn shops in one afternoon.

This colour way has been dicontinued, I like is so much I picked up 4 – 50gm balls. This use to be my go to LYS, until Soper Creek opened.

Never been to this shop before. Just love the colours of this sock yarn, comes with spool of stablizing thread in middle of ball. I would not make a special trip to this shop, but would stop if I was in the area.

World Wide Knit in Public Week?

Dramatic Renewal of Purpose

Renewal of Wedding Vows 

Our Wedding Day June 2, 1984. You must be getting tired of this picture, but I wanted to show the then and now :0)

When we met with the Rector to discuss the service, he asked if we wanted to go with our own vows or to go with the new book of common prayer or the old. It seemed to me that we should use the service that we used 30 yrs ago as it has worked for us so far ;0) 

We all met at St Georges Anglican Church at 1:00 pm on Saturday.

We were lucky that our original Best Man was available, and my son stood up with me as my Man of Honour. He and my father also did a readings.

We adjourned to our home for a potluck BBQ, and celebration.

All and all a heart warming event shared with dear friends and family.

A lovely gift of flowers from dear friends who could not come.

Also finished my sweethearts Clog Socks as an anniversary gift.

I think we are good for another 30 years. Oh, my Husband and his friends are now referring to me as the 2nd wife…

Preparing for Tomorrow

This Saturday I am remarrying my sweetheart all over again! 

Our Wedding Day June 2, 1984

It’s been 30 yrs and we are going to Church to renew our vows, in the presence of god and our friends and family.  Followed by a Pot Luck BBQ in our backyard. I will post pictures on Wednesday. 

Sorry, I don’t have much to say fibre wise, but I am a tad busy today running around grocery shopping, house cleaning and organizing.  It’s crazy around here. Both my guyz are helping, thatz why it’s crazy around here ;0)

Happy Wednesday! I’m pleased to report I survived my Monday, and by the looks of it, Tuesday as well. Hip hip hooray me!

Even better, I have a real beauty to show you guys today! Thanks to a wonderful soul in my knitting circle with a healthy yarn stash, I scored the extra skein of zarina wool I needed to finish the lace on my haruni. Yay! Cheers to Shawna, who just had a baby boy too! Love me some newborn snuggles even more than a new skein of prized wool. I might have popped an egg just by holding the wee fella 😉
…how I love babies, let me count the ways! Thankfully, my own three darlings quickly reminded me how much I love sleep. And closing the bathroom door. And eating with two hands. But…but… I lurve babies sleep! If I tell myself that enough, it might come…
