WIP Weds: Top and Toes

Hello all! <wave>

tami_wip

Guess what I’ve been up to! It has been so warm around here, all the snow has melted off the front lawn. So much for living in the Great White North. I’ve decided to Spring clean in January…

I was looking at my Ravelry Queue and was shocked that it had 647 projects in it, so with a little trimming here and there I am down to just the essential 562 :0)

And Knitting!

Did you see this on Ravelry:   This week Modjeska Hat by Tracey Grzegorczyk  this pattern was on my queue wish list. texaspurlgurl generously gifted it to me last month. She noticed my Scrap Jar on Ravelry Radar and sent me this treat.  Hope to make it for DH soon.

Book of the week: Mr Darcy takes a Wife by Linda Berdoll

I have read this many times, a great continuation of “Pride and Prejudice” by Jane Austen. This is the first of 2 books about Darcy and Elizabeth. I like how Linda Berdoll, depicted their evolving marrried relationship. I enjoyed this book so much, I purchased it for my new Ereader. Well worth it as I reread favourite books every few years. This is one of a few dozen, especially after reading “Pride and Prejudice”. (read recently)

WIP Weds: The Gift of Christmas all the way from Switzerland

tami_wip

Hey! My Pay it Forward from Marigold’s Loft arrived, all the way from Switzerland! What a delightful surprise, with all the stuff going on, thank you so much Natalie. They really made me smile!

Fingerless gubbies

Fingerless gubbies

I am keeping them in the pocket of my favourite coat, so I am wearing them everyday :0)

The bad news. Today I am at a major hospital in Toronto, MiL is going in for a tricky procedure to remove a giant gallstone, that was leftover after she had her gallbladder removed. Surgeon commented he had never seen one so large. We are all very worried about her. Last 3 times were no walk in the park! Think I will work on Wellengang / Swell scarf for her while I wait. She prefers me with her rather than her sons, no surprise there, lol. Here’s hopeing she will sail through it!

Well I continue beavering away on presents as deadline looms!

WIP Weds: Squee! Look what came in the mail!

We had a great long weekend! Lots of food, friends and fireworks.  The weather has been glorious, between 28 and 34c, just a little cloudiness.

The real news! DH went to the  mailbox and happy dance, there was a parcel from Tami <wiggle with delight> I just love it!

I was the one of the lucky ducks that won the Candy Skein Birthday draw!

Think, think, think, what shall I make?

The Parcel!

My picture just doesn’t do it justice, shades of Lucerne green to something close to Sea-foam green.

Looking for vote here, 465yds of delicious fingering, ideas welcome

2 more Untangleds to do, and someone bought 2 of my coffee cup sweaters, so two more to do of them too. Only 17 days to the fundraiser!

That’s another story, down to 2 organizers, myself and a friend Ratz! My darling guys have stept into the breach to give a hand setting up tables etc.

This event is for a much-needed ramp for wheelchair access to our Church hall. We forge on!

FO: TGIF and Look, Look, Look!

Well the saga continues, MiL still in hospital. Physio has declared she needs a cane and home help, she gave them the business. “Sure I am unsteady on my feet, they operate on me, yank stuff out and then I don’t sleep, lots of pain and terrible food! You would be unsteady too!” she sniffed at them. They obviously don’t know who they are dealing with. The old MiL is alive and well, just in tired and in pain but getting a little better. lol

I have been making great progress with my Sprout Cardigan, doing a lot of knitting while visiting at the hospital most of the day. Almost finished sleeve one.

Sorry to say that this being a larger project I don’t have anything of my own to show, however Snapdragon AKA Emily Marett sent me a lovely package. With everything goin on around here (see weds post) I almost cried when I received this lovely parcel. Back in April, Emily put up a post about Paying it forward, so I put in my name and promptly forgot about it, with so much going on well you know. At the time she asked for my favourite colours and I sent this picture as inspiration,

Painting by Monet “Artists Garden at Giverny”

And this is what I received in the mail yesterday, just before heading to the hospital :0)

Pay-it-Forward Parcel :0)

And a lovely note!

A friendly note!

And in the parcel :0)

Parcel contained: Lovely note, 2 handknit Facecloths, A pattern for The circle cloth, and a greeting card kit.

The happy face cloth is delightfully soft and friendly!

Oh, and I received a gift from my computer geek DH too!

An intel USB Hub for my peripherals, now I can plug-in Ebook,Camera, cellphone and MP3 player (Just learning to use it!) to my netbook :0)

Well hopefully there will be better news on the family front next week, meanwhile I have knit therapy and a terrific parcel to play with, thanks Emily you’re a gem!

By the bye I am still accepting names for Pay-it Forward look here for details and leave a comment!

Our 28th Wedding Anniversary tomorrow!
